To avoid false (wrong) doctrine & teachers, what questions should you ask yourself when you hear someone who claims to be preaching God's word?

For 7 years I was in a wolf's lair, called a church, under a man who called himself a man of God, until the Lord opened my eyes fully, at the time when my season there ended. I wrote this book out of a passion to see Believers freed from their bondage to false prophets, by giving them a bird's eye view into things you would never see or hear about on television. When I left that place, my life and safety were threatened, I felt I had lost my "spiritual family", which was a big part of my life, and I had to learn how to trust spiritual leaders in the body of Christ again.
